transmasculine lesbians are real and valid and i, a transmasculine lesbian, am here to explain why!
aren’t lesbians women?
not all of us. many of us, especially the transmascs, are nonbinary. nonbinary people have always been included in lesbianism. this is not because they were “seen as their agab” like some might say, because amab nonbinary people can be lesbians too! this is just because every sexuality is inclusive of nonbinary people. “i’m not a woman, i’m a lesbian!” has been a common sentiment throughout time. the only requirements are don’t like men, don’t be men.
aren’t transmasculine people male/male aligned?
depends on the definition you use! the word is not concrete and has two definitions, both of which include and exclude different people.
the one transmasc lesbians do not use: male/male aligned transgender person. this definition includes no-transition trans men/nonbinary people and excludes non-male people.
the one we do: afab transitioning towards a masculine appearance. this includes non-male afabs and excludes no-transition trans men/nonbinary people.
these definitions are both valid and true. they exist in tandem.
why are you a lesbian if you’re uncomfortable as a girl?
plenty of reasons! see, for me lesbian sort of IS my gender identity. for another transmasc lesbian it might be because they are fem-aligned and it is just the word that describes them. and for another it might be one of few links to womanhood they like to keep. reasons vary, and all are valid.

the yellow is for loving ladies and not men because that’s what lesbianism is.
the pink/purple is connection to womanhood and lack thereof to manhood because we are nonbinary and we are lesbians.
the white is for not being a girl because that’s why we’re transmasc, we aren’t girls!
